1. Who we are
uords. LLC is an Indiana Limited Liability Company located at 5534 Saint Joe Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835, United States. For privacy questions, email support@uords.com.
2. What we collect
Nothing. The Uords. app stores all data — words, categories, custom photos, voice recordings, progress, favorites, PIN, theme settings, and onboarding state — exclusively in local storage on the device the app runs on. Nothing is transmitted to uords. LLC, no third party, no analytics provider, no advertising network, no AI/ML training pipeline.
We do not require an account, an email address, or any sign-in to use the app.
3. Microphone & speech recognition
The Uords. app uses your device's microphone only during Practice mode. The audio is processed locally by the operating system's on-device speech recognition. We do not record, store, transmit, or train any model on this audio. You can deny microphone access at any time in your device settings — the rest of the app will continue to work.
4. Photos
If you choose to add a custom photo to a word card, the image is saved on the device only. We do not upload custom photos. We do not see them.
5. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Uords. is intended for use by a parent or legal guardian alongside their child. Because we do not collect any personal information at all, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or anyone else. The app contains no advertising, no third-party trackers, no behavioral analytics, no in-app purchases, and no outbound links accessible to a child user.
6. Your rights and choices
Because all of your data lives on your device, you have direct control over it. From inside the app:
- Open the Parent Dashboard (PIN required).
- Go to Settings → Legal & Support.
- Tap Delete All My Data to wipe every Uords. word, photo, recording, setting, PIN, and progress entry from this device.
You can also use Settings → Backup to export an encrypted-locally JSON backup, or to import one previously made on another device.
7. Indiana data-breach notice
Although the structure of Uords. means we do not hold any of your personal information that could be breached on our side, we comply with Indiana Code § 24-4.9. In the unlikely event of a qualifying breach, impacted Indiana residents and the Indiana Attorney General will be notified within 45 days of discovery, as required by applicable law.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Uords. or any uords. LLC product handles data — for example, by adding optional cloud backup — we will update this page, change the "Effective" date above, and require affirmative opt-in inside the app before any data leaves your device.
