Does Uords. work without an internet connection?
Yes. Uords. is fully offline. Once installed, it does not need a network connection to speak words, record audio, or save progress.
Will Uords. work on an older iPhone or iPad?
Uords. supports current iPhone and iPad devices running a recent version of iOS / iPadOS. If your device is several years old, Practice-mode speech recognition may be limited; everything else will still work.
How do I open the Parent Dashboard?
Tap the gear icon in the top corner of the child screen and enter the four-digit PIN you set during onboarding. From the dashboard you can manage Words, Settings, Progress, and Backup.
I forgot my Parent PIN. What now?
For your child's safety we cannot recover a PIN — it is never transmitted off the device and we never see it. Uninstalling and reinstalling Uords. will clear the PIN and let you choose a new one. Note: reinstalling also deletes all of your words, photos, recordings, and progress unless you have a Backup file (Settings → Backup → Export Backup).
How do I move my words and recordings to another device?
- On the old device, open Parent Dashboard → Backup → Export Backup.
A
.jsonfile will be saved. - Transfer that file to the new device (AirDrop, email, cloud drive — any way you like).
- On the new device, open Parent Dashboard → Backup → Import Backup and select the file.
How do I delete everything Uords. has stored on this device?
Open Parent Dashboard → Settings → Legal & Support → Delete All My Data. You will be asked to confirm. This wipes every word, photo, recording, setting, PIN, and progress entry from the device and reloads the app.
Does Uords. collect any data?
No. Everything stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
Is Uords. a substitute for speech therapy?
No. Uords. is an educational AAC and speech-practice tool, not a medical device. We strongly encourage families to work with a licensed speech-language pathologist where possible. Uords. is designed to complement that work, not replace it.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Open the App Store, find Uords. in your purchase history, and tap Report a Problem. The current version of Uords. is free.
